TAMPA - Syniverse has appointed technology industry veteran Scott Hatfield as Chief Technology Officer, where he will shape the company’s technology vision, drive innovation, and lead all aspects of the development, delivery and maintenance of products and services provided to more than 900 Syniverse customers worldwide.

“With more than 25 years in the technology industry, Scott brings superior expertise and perspective to Syniverse,” said Jeff Gordon, President and CEO, Syniverse. “His focus will be on fortifying operational excellence, sustaining customer focus through process engineering and automation, driving continuous improvement, and working with our lines of business to rapidly propel new offerings to market.”

Prior to his most recent position at Capgemini as Vice President of the company’s cable practice, Hatfield held a number of executive-level technology roles at Cox Communications, including Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer as well as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. During his nearly 15 years at Cox, he was responsible for running the IS and live network, including cable and high-speed data, as the company migrated from a video-only to a full-service broadband communications company. He also has served in senior roles for Ohmeda, Xerox Corporation, Ford Motor Company and General Dynamics.

Hatfield will be based in Syniverse’s global headquarters in Tampa, and will lead a global organization with operations in more than 25 countries.

“Mobile is an essential part of the daily lives of billions of people across the globe, and I am extremely pleased to be joining the company at the center of it all,” Hatfield said. “Whether accessing social networks, sharing video and pictures, or simply making calls and sending text messages, users expect anywhere, anytime access to apps and services. As Chief Technology Officer, I look forward to supporting Syniverse’s customers to deliver the promise of mobility in this era of unprecedented growth in demand for mobile services.”

Hatfield earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science from Western Michigan University and his master’s in computer and information science from Oakland University.
