Intelimedix Names New CEO

By Florida Technology Journal Staff Report.

LAKELAND - Intelimedix, a business intelligence company focused on relational data analysis for faster, more accurate decision-making, announced that Joel Portice has been appointed president and chief executive officer.

Portice joined the company October 2009 bringing a wealth of healthcare industry knowledge and leadership experience. Most recently, he held the position as chief operating officer at HealthCare Insight, a division of Verisk Health and a provider of healthcare payment integrity solutions, where he developed and executed the company’s growth strategy including: product management, financial performance, and product enhancements and direction. He also led overall operations with P&L oversight.

“Joel’s background, health industry expertise and unique skill set will help the company expand and move forward in 2010 and beyond,” said David Robinson, chairman of the board for Intelimedix. “He brings together the right combination of industry experience and leadership to our already extremely talented team in the healthcare market.”

Portice is also co-founder of Enclarity, Inc., a healthcare information management and analytics solutions company. Prior to launching Enclarity, Portice was vice president of Healthcare and Insurance Analytics for Fair Isaac Corporation. He also co-founded Integrity Plus Services, a cost-containment software and services company that served the healthcare and insurance markets. IPS was acquired by Ingenix, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group.

“In a time when healthcare and healthcare reform is on the minds of many Americans, it’s critical for healthcare organizations to have a precise and accurate grasp on accounting, billing and finances,” said Portice. “One of my goals is to employ the best analytics technology available to enable us to provide deeper data intel and cost savings opportunities more quickly to the healthcare industry.”

Portice received his B.S. from the University of South Dakota and a M.A. from Hamline University. He is a member of the Board of Trustees for Hamline University and the Board of Advisors for the Center for Health Care Management and Policy of the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine.
