Hartxt Wins First Tampa Open Data Hackathon
Bob Buckhorn, Mayor of the City of Tampa announced the winner of the first open data hackathon at Tampa City Hall on Wednesday evening.
The winning solution called HartTxt, was developed at the 48-hour citywide hackathon using open data from HART, the countywide public transit system in Hillsborough County. The application allows users to text bus stop information from any phone to receive information about bus arrival times and schedules.
FTJ gets reaction from the mayor and talks with Daniel Melick, digital strategist of Spark who led the winning team. We also caught up with Justin Davis, a Tampa technology activist and CEO of Madera Labs who sponsored the event.
