Florida's BioTech Industry Seeing Explosive Growth

I caught up with Russell Allen, president and ceo of BioFlorida at the Celebration of BioTech event held in Alachua.

He tells me the Florida bioscience industry has nearly doubled in number of companies over the past five years. There are now 200 companies across the state. Additionally, Florida companies have attracted a 65% gain in venture capital investment. Nationally there has been a 22% decline in biotech investing over the first quarter of this year.
