Citrix reports 16% Revenue Increase, Growth in Cloud Software Sales

FT. LAUDERDALE - South Florida-based virtual computing solutions firm, Citrix Systems said Wednesday afternoon that earnings rose 16% for the fourth quarter on growing sales of its cloud-based business software offerings.

For the quarter ended December 31, 2011, Citrix reported net income of $109 million, or 58 cents a share, compared to net income of $94 million, or 49 cents a share, for the same period the previous year. Earnings on a non-GAAP basis were $147 million, or 78 cents a share, for the recent period. Revenue grew 17% to $619 million. Analysts had been expecting earnings of 76 cents a share on revenue of $618.9 billion, according to consensus forecasts from FactSet Research.
