Commodities Online Raises $2.23M of $10M Equity Offering

FORT LAUDERDALE - Start-up Commodities Online LLC has raised $2.23 million of its $10 million equity offering, according to a Reg D filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Eighty-two investors contributed a minimum of $25,000 each.

The Fort Lauderdale-based company hosts seminars and sells DVDs and other informational products to train people how to invest in physical commodities, including rice, sugar, wheat and gold. Commodities Online requires each enrollee to fund his or her account with a minimum of $5,000.

Proceeds from the offering will be used for working capital, which includes salaries and benefits to officers and other employees, according to the filing.
