Jeremy Stieglitz, co-founder and CTO of Trendy Entertainment, a Gainesville-based gaming startup, talks with FTJ about the company, hiring local talent and the Gainesville startup community.
Stieglitz founded the company in 2010 with CEO, Agapitus Lyle. Trendy is best known for creating the game Dungeon Defenders, and is currently working on the sequel. The company is also currently working on a new cross-gaming delivery platform for its gaming titles.
They now employ 30 artists, designers, animators, and engineers with over 40 years of collective industry experience and talent from studios such as Bethesda & Epic Games. Many of the employees are hired locally as graduates from the University of Florida as well as from UCF's Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy and Full Sail University in Orlando.
