Yippy Appoints New Chief Executive Officer

South Florida's LinguaSys Nets Investment from Mark Cuban

Mashable: Central Florida #4 for Tech Jobs

Mashable_LogoNEW YORK, NY - Silicon Valley is still the biggest hot spot for tech jobs in the U.S., but Central Florida isn't far behind. According to Mashable, Florida’s High Tech Corridor, which is made up of a mix of aerospace, digital media and energy companies, had 7,752 tech jobs posted in the period January - August 2012, making it fourth nationally in high tech jobs posted.

There were 9,874 tech jobs posted online for Silicon Valley between January to August of this year, according to a new report from Bright Labs, a new data resource center from the job search startup Bright. Silicon Alley in New York was close behind with 8,976 tech jobs in the period.

Launch Pad to open tech accelerator in downtown Miami

UniversityMiamiLogoMIAMI - Through a first-of-its-kind public-private partnership slated to be announced Friday, a new technology business accelerator designed to recruit and cultivate high-growth start-ups is coming to downtown Miami.

The Launch Pad Tech Accelerator, created by The Launch Pad, an entrepreneurial resource center at the University of Miami, is backed by nearly $1.5 million in public-sector funding. Miami-Dade County is contributing $1 million over four years; the Miami Downtown Development Authority is investing $460,000 for operational expenses over two years.
